WASHINGTON AVE: Located in the heart of downtown Golden, this 2007-built penthouse condo was due for a refresh when the owners purchased it as a home away from their home in Chicago. The fireplace wall and kitchen island were covered in river rock, and the unit had cherry cabinets & flooring throughout. Seeking a mountain modern aesthetic but hoping not to do much heavy construction, the owners opted to keep the kitchen cabinets & countertops but swapped out the flooring with wide plank white oak engineered hardwood and painted the cabinets a deep charcoal. A new tile fireplace surround with custom built-ins creates a cozy centerpiece for the main living area. To complete the overall look, we installed new window coverings, furniture and custom art from around the globe.
