SIMMS ST: This 1961 home in Applewood has an iconic mid-century vibe, but the floorplan was choppy when the owners purchased it, with lots of awkward, inefficient spaces. The owners wanted to open the living space to make it more functional for their family of 4, and to take advantage of the home’s incredible views from as many rooms as possible. This was a big project– we had beams installed to allow for the removal of all interior walls, opening the kitchen, den & dining room to the west-facing backyard. White oak hardwood flooring was installed throughout, and a sophisticated custom kitchen was designed to complete the polished aesthetic of the space.
